Route trace
One command to trace forward and return routes between your server and any IP, with every hop labeled: China Telecom CN2, China Unicom 9929, China Mobile CMI and more.
Run in a terminal
bash <(curl -sL ipk.me/trace) -l en 216.73.217.175 -l en | Report language (follows this page) |
-4 / -6 | IPv4 or IPv6 only |
-y | Upload the result and print a share link without asking (default: ask, No) |
1.1.1.1 / example.com | Target to trace; without it, Shanghai China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile are traced |
How it works
- Forward path (this machine → target): traceroute, mtr or tracepath runs on your machine; the hop list is sent to ipk.me to be labeled.
- Return path (target → this machine): after the trace, a one-line command is printed for you to run on the target machine; both directions are linked and shown together.
- Results are kept on ipk.me for 180 days; only the ones you choose to share are public, and share links expire after 15 days.
- Each hop shows its backbone (CN2, 163, 9929, 4837, CMI, CMIN2…), location and ASN; each path ends with the detected line type, e.g. CN2 GIA or CN2 GT.
- Works on Linux and macOS. Only hop addresses and your public IP are sent.
